About The Position

We are seeking a Medical Oncologist for a Locum Tenens position at a hospital in Redding, CA. This role involves clinical duties and call coverage, focusing on oncology and hematology patients. The coverage period is from October 19, 2026, to December 31, 2026, with a shift schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The average daily patient volume is 15-20, covering all tumor types within oncology/hematology. The facility utilizes iKnowmed for clinic EMR and Cerner for infusion. Support staff includes 11 RNs, 2 MAs, and 2 office staff.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology and Hematology
• Active California License
• Active DEA Certification
• ACLS (if moderate sedation)
• PALS (if pediatric patients)

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient chemotherapy and infusion services.
• Manage hematology/oncology patients including diagnosis, staging, and treatment.
• Provide oversight for infusion center treatments and ensure MD onsite for all treatments.
• Perform hospital consults as needed.
• Participate in call schedule (night call Monday-Thursday, weekend call Friday-Monday).
