About The Position

The Medical Office Receptionist at the Family Care Clinic is responsible for delivering patient care utilizing the Medical Office Receptionist Process. This role involves performing patient check-in and check-out, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, obtaining patient and insurance information, collecting payments, managing patient records, and confirming appointments. The position requires a high level of professionalism, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Six months Medical experience in a Clinic (strongly preferred)
  • Six months Business Office Customer Service experience (preferred)
  • Outgoing individual with a friendly attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task front desk job responsibilities for a busy clinic
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of insurance authorization/billing requirements
  • Demonstrated strong customer service and communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Knowledge of clinic procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Medical Office Receptionist Process.
  • Performs patient check-in at the time of visit and completes all necessary paperwork to ensure efficiency and compliance with clinic and regulatory policies.
  • Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
  • Schedules appointments according to office guidelines.
  • Obtains accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts.
  • Copies/scans patient access related hard copy materials into the correct location in the electronic medical record.
  • Prepares charts for patient appointments, ensuring all necessary information is complete.
  • Conducts all functions associated with patient check-out, including pricing services, collecting patient responsibility payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Performs duties involving record filing and retrieval and assisting with the filing of registration documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Confirms next day appointments and alerts patients about needed documentation and time-of-service payment details.
  • Follows up with patients regarding the Missed Appointment Policy and sends appropriate communications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
