MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST WEEKEND ONLY - LAB
About The Position
Aspirus Merrill Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Lab Technician for a part-time, weekend-only position. The role performs chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic procedures in the Central Clinical Laboratory that require independent judgment and interpretation. Individuals in this job classification meet the qualifications to perform high-complexity testing as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA 88). The position is 0.6 FTE, or 48 hours every pay period, with 12-hour weekend day shifts from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aspirus Merrill Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital serving Merrill and rural Lincoln County. Its services include inpatient care, a 24/7 emergency department with a level IV trauma designation, urgent care, imaging, laboratory, and rehabilitation services.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science.
- Active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP), Medical Lab Technician (MLT-ASCP), or CLS-NCA certification, or attain certification within six months of hire.
- Meet the qualifications necessary to perform high-complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88.
- ASCP Board of Certification credential is listed as essential.
