About The Position

UW Health is seeking a Medical Lab Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist, Generalist to perform diagnostic laboratory testing across multiple specialties. The role uses laboratory technology and instrumentation to produce accurate, reliable results that support patient diagnosis and treatment. The technician partners with physicians, caregivers, and laboratory professionals to deliver timely information affecting patient care, and contributes to quality assurance, troubleshooting, process improvement, and ongoing professional development. The position is based at UW Health Belvidere Hospital, 1625 S State St, Belvidere, Illinois. The schedule is 90% FTE, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., three days per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Associate's degree in laboratory science or medical technology.
Provide a copy of a high school diploma or equivalent, or the highest level of completed degree obtained.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience.
Medical Laboratory Technician certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or a similar agency.

Responsibilities
