About The Position

Performs, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory tests by following protocols to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating illness and disease. Uses complex problem-solving skills to resolve clinical and instrument problems. The role requires compliance with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements, following established procedures to maintain a safe laboratory environment and meet accreditation standards. The position is with Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, a 122-bed general acute care community hospital in Torrington, Connecticut.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in biology, including one semester in microbiology; coursework may be within or in addition to the bachelor's degree.
16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in chemistry, including one semester in organic chemistry or biochemistry; coursework may be within or in addition to the bachelor's degree.
ASCP or equivalent categorical/generalist certification within 90 days of employment.
Ability to adopt H3W Leadership behaviors and become a strong H3W ambassador.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
Good leadership abilities.
Ability to comply with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements and follow established procedures.
