About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs and demonstrates proficiency and understanding in one or more areas of the clinical laboratory. Commitment to service, safety, and professionalism is critical to achieving the best experience for patients. The role performs chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections; maintains records of performance, patient results, and quality control; maintains equipment and records preventive and remedial maintenance; and assists with laboratory training programs as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One of the following credentials is required: Medical Laboratory Scientist, Certified Medical Lab, Certified Lab Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Lab Scientist, or American Medical Technologist.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in a hematology laboratory in a hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.
• Maintain records of performance, patient results, and quality control.
• Maintain equipment and record preventive and remedial maintenance.
• Assist with laboratory training programs as required.
