About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist provides timely and courteous service to patients, physicians, and hospital staff by performing laboratory analyses accurately and efficiently. The scientist detects unusual conditions and assumes responsibility for problem solving. Additional duties within the scope of the role may be assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a chemical, biological, or clinical/medical laboratory science.
• Clinical laboratory training culminating in national certification as defined by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry.
• Active ASCP Medical Technologist (MT), ASCP Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), ASCP Microbiology, or equivalent certification.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
• Strong team leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to develop trust with organizational leaders.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and proficient computer skills.
• Proven track record of successful performance.
• Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and develop appropriate solutions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
