About The Position
Texas Health Stephenville is hiring a PRN Medical Laboratory Scientist. The role is based at 411 Belknap, Stephenville, Texas, and shifts and schedules rotate according to department needs. New graduates are welcome. The position contributes to laboratory operations and patient care in a collaborative environment offering mentorship, comprehensive training, leadership resources, and opportunities for growth. Texas Health Stephenville is a 98-bed, full-service hospital serving Erath County and surrounding areas since 1926. It is a Pathway to Excellence® designated hospital with surgical services, women’s and infant care, advanced diagnostic imaging, wound care, and cardiac rehabilitation. The facility is also a Level IV Trauma Center and Level III Stroke Support facility, and has Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certification for Chest Pain Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree for an MLS in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or a chemical, physical, or biological science; the degree may be attained within three months of hire. Individuals hired as a CLS II before January 3, 2010, are grandfathered to the MLS position with their existing education.
- Internship in an approved Medical Technician training program required.
- Obtain an applicable credential within six months after hire: MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), another listed credential or state license, or M(ASCP) in Microbiology if working in Microbiology.
