Medical Laboratory Scientist I - Flow Cytometry
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for its Clinical Laboratory – Flow Cytometry department in Lewisville, Texas. The role involves performing high-complexity Flow Cytometry testing, handling and processing specimens, analyzing samples using approved procedures, reviewing and releasing results, and maintaining required records. The position is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The stated pay range begins at $29.50 per hour. Salary offers consider relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications where applicable, and market and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of clinical experience performing high-complexity testing in Flow Cytometry.
- One of the following educational qualifications: BS in Medical Technology (preferred); BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology; an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; or prior qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.

Responsibilities
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining patient test result records.
- Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
- Review and release test results.
- Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
- Follow established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or result reporting, correct encountered problems, or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
