Medical Laboratory Scientist I - Flow Cytometry
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for its Clinical Laboratory – Flow Cytometry department in Lewisville, Texas. The role performs high-complexity flow cytometry testing, including specimen processing and analysis, review and release of results, and maintenance of required records. The position is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The pay range starts at $29.50 per hour. The employee may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% for some or all second-shift hours and 15% for some or all third-shift hours. Annual performance bonus compensation may also be available. Salary offers are based on factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market and organizational factors.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of clinical experience performing high-complexity testing in Flow Cytometry.
- Qualifying education or credentials: a BS in Medical Technology (preferred); a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology; an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; or prior qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.

Responsibilities
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining patient test-result records.
- Maintain records demonstrating proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
- Review and release test results.
- Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable safety guidelines.
- Follow established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting; correct issues or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
