Medical Laboratory Scientist I
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to perform clinical laboratory testing in Corry, Pennsylvania. The position is scheduled for three 12-hour shifts: every Monday and Tuesday, plus every other Saturday and Sunday. The night shift runs from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The role involves specimen handling and processing, analysis using approved testing procedures, review and release of test results, and compliance with laboratory procedures and applicable regulatory and safety guidelines. Clinical experience with high-complexity testing is preferred. The position offers a starting pay rate of $23.93 per hour, with possible shift differentials and potential annual performance bonus compensation.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is preferred; alternatively, a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or prior qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.
- One year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Maintain records showing proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
- Review and release test results.
- Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
- Follow established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or result reporting, correct them, or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
