About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for its Auto Chemistry department in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with rotational weekends. The role performs laboratory testing and supports accurate, timely reporting of patient results while following laboratory procedures and applicable regulatory and safety guidelines. The stated pay range is $34.45 to $37.78 per hour. The employee may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% for some or all second-shift hours and 15% for some or all third-shift hours; additional details would be provided if an offer is extended. Compensation is based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications where applicable, and market and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology preferred; alternatively, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Biology, or prior qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.
One year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining patient test-result records.
Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
Review and release test results.
Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
Follow established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
Identify issues that may adversely affect test performance or result reporting, correct them, or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
