About The Position

Baptist Health is currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our Laboratory department at Baptist Nassau. This is a PRN shift. This candidate needs to have great customer service skills and be detail oriented and organized. This position requires the candidate to work onsite with the Medical Director, assisting in Anatomic Pathology of specimens for Bronchoscopies, EBUS, Needle Aspirates, and other related AP process procedures in addition to performing and supporting Outpatient phlebotomy.

Requirements

• High School Diploma Required

• Specimen Processing Preferred

Responsibilities

• Performing the duties of a phlebotomist in an outpatient laboratory setting.
• Utilizing computer system in the processing of laboratory specimens.
• Retrieving specimens from pneumatic tube system and processes specimens according to specimen type.
• Distributing specimens to different areas of the laboratory.
• Coordinating specimen pick-ups for referral testing.
• Preparing specimen transfer lists and packages specimens in accordance with laboratory policy for transport.
