About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant II to join their AgeWell team. The AgeWell Department supports patients aged 65 and older and is experiencing rapid growth. This role requires a Medical Assistant Certification, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and flexibility. Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Required
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Nice To Haves
- Over 5 years Patient Care Experience Preferred
- Experience in Physician's office Preferred
- Associate's Degree Preferred
Responsibilities
- Performing phlebotomy procedures
- Providing nursing assistance to physician
- Obtaining vital signs
- Greeting and chaperoning patients during medical visit
- Telephone triage and patient education
- Maintaining medical documentation
- Scheduling care, treatment, and diagnostic tests, per physician
- Processing CLIA waived tests, prescription requests, and referrals
- Cross training in front office, referrals area, and other areas
