About The Position

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Solutions, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking qualified Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) for a long-term contract assignment at Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC) in Phoenix, Arizona. This is an opportunity to bring your laboratory experience to a hospital setting while supporting essential patient care within the Indian Health Service. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will provide laboratory services in a hospital-based clinical setting, supporting accurate and timely diagnostic care. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. This description is not intended to represent a complete list of all responsibilities. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • 2–3 years of experience as a CLS or MLT in a hospital laboratory setting
  • Previous medical or clinical laboratory experience required
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to pass Federal Security Clearance
  • Immunization records required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings preferred
  • Prior Indian Health Services (IHS) or tribal healthcare experience preferred
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment
  • Perform quality control procedures and equipment calibration
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory results using sound professional judgment
  • Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
  • Accurately document and manage laboratory data within applicable electronic health record and laboratory systems
  • Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory and healthcare staff to support timely patient care
