About The Position

Baptist Health is currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join our Laboratory Services department at Baptist Silverleaf. This is a full-time, evenings opportunity. This is a growth-based opportunity, and we want you on our team! This candidate must hold a valid Medical Technologist - Generalist license in the State of Florida before hire. This candidate will have the opportunity to rotate within different areas of the lab and sharpen their skills within each specialty.

Requirements

Must hold a valid Medical Technologist - Generalist license in the State of Florida before hire.
2 years Medical Technologist Experience
Associate of Science Required
Licensed Medical Technologist Required
Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science (non-Nursing) Preferred
Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred
Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Preferred
Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure rules.

Responsibilities

Maintaining expertise and performing technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in one or more laboratory sections.
Maintaining records of performance as defined in the laboratory's general and sectional policy and procedure manuals.
Maintaining records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
Instructing new employees and students.
Supervising MLTs as General Supervisor and serve as Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
Working with Director and Section Supervisors, however, the candidate can perform all responsibilities of this job description without on-site supervision.
