About The Position

The Medical Lab Scientist is responsible for obtaining or receiving specimens, performing clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, understanding method principles, performing quality control and preventive maintenance, accurately interpreting results within critical limits, working independently to meet deadlines, and validating all data obtained. Reading Hospital's Laboratory is CAP accredited and offers specialized testing, lab automation, and state-of-the-art equipment. The lab provides cross-training opportunities and involvement in process improvement teams. In Fiscal Year 2023, the lab performed 8.5 million tests across various disciplines and over 122,000 Anatomical Pathology tests, with significant phlebotomy activity. The department comprises over 200 medical laboratory professionals and offers opportunities for advancement and career growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science - OR - Bachelor's in some other field of study AND completion of a Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science program - OR - MT-HEW certification will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
• Clinical Laboratory Science Experience Required
• ASCP or AMT eligible
• Computer Skills to include use and navigation
• Excellent Communications Skills
• Multitasking
