About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Medical Equipment Graduate-Planner 2 in Naperville, IL, to support medical equipment analysis, design, and implementation for healthcare projects. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to deliver engineering solutions for clients, work within project budgets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Clinical Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or equivalent required
  • 2 years of experience minimum in the building design or medical equipment consulting industry
  • Knowledge of hospital/clinic department functions
  • Developing proficiency of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to Medical Equipment
  • Knowledge of industry standard medical equipment software and tools including 4Tower, Attainia, and Bluebeam
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenge
  • Developing proficiency in the use of Building Information Modeling (Building Information Model) software
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 30% with overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain client relationships by gathering project requirements and communicating technical information effectively
  • Support consulting project execution, including project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Document design decisions, client instructions, and project design progress
  • Analyze low to moderate complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in medical equipment
  • Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions
  • Conduct equipment assessments and inventories, evaluate existing equipment for potential reuse, and document equipment for inclusion in the MEQ database
  • Lead MEQ user meetings to finalize equipment lists and placement drawings, obtain user sign-off, and provide updated equipment lists and cost estimates
  • Obtain written acceptance from the owner for final submittals and create standard deliverables including cost estimates, MEQ books, project memos, narratives, and letters
  • Develop procurement schedules, write MEQ specifications for bid comparison, and recommend equipment options to support purchasing decisions
