About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a part-time Medical Driver in Charlottesville, Virginia, to transport medical supplies and specimens for healthcare clients. The position is scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and pays $17.00 per hour. The posting also mentions an additional $1 per hour for work between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM and on weekends, for a rate of $18.00 per hour, as well as a $300 sign-on bonus paid after 60 days of employment. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials. Requirements

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver's license for 3 years.
Demonstrated dependability and reliability.

Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screens.
Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination depending on location and local mandates.
Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including items from storage racks.
Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands regardless of route or pickup and drop-off variation.
Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.
Complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities
