About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver to cover the Franciscan Supply Route on Indianapolis’s south side. The route serves Franciscan Health and has 15 or more stops. The driver transports supplies, medical records, mail, and medication. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at $16.00 per hour. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle. Routes and duties may vary according to client and business needs, and route assignments may change. Requirements

Must be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least 3 years.
Must have an excellent driving history.
Must demonstrate dependability and reliability.
Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Must be familiar with technology and able to adapt to it.
Must be able to follow procedures closely.
Must be able to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
Must pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
Must be able to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on varied roads and in varying weather conditions.
Must be able to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds; the position description also states the route requires lifting up to 60 pounds.
Must be able to lift items off storage racks.
Must be comfortable walking long distances and standing for long periods.
Must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required depending on location and local mandates.

Responsibilities

Safely drive and transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items throughout transportation.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
Drive safely and courteously.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Perform duties across assigned routes as needed, adapting to changing route assignments and client or business needs.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Help build and maintain a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
