About The Position

Centurion is seeking a Board-Certified primary care physician to serve as the Medical Director at Danville Correctional Center in Danville, Illinois. This full-time position involves providing clinical direction, direct patient care, and clinical supervision for medical staff. The Medical Director collaborates with the Health Services Administrator to ensure efficient and appropriate medical services and participates in committees such as Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Infection Prevention and Control, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics. Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required.
  • Active and unrestricted MD/DO license or the ability to obtain one required.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine required.
  • Must show/be able to obtain active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
  • Ability to pass credentialing and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical direction needed to meet service delivery requirements.
  • Directs clinical services for patients.
  • Provides clinical supervision for medical staff at the assigned site.
  • Collaborates with the Health Services Administrator (HSA) to ensure efficient and clinically appropriate medical services.
  • Participates in various committees to include Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Infection Prevention and Control, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics as requested.
  • Provides clinical direction and direct patient care to meet the service delivery requirements of the assigned site.
  • Supervises and evaluates medical services for pre-trial or incarcerated populations.
  • Chairs or participates in various committees to include Continuous Quality Improvement, Infection Control and Pharmacy and Therapeutics.
  • Interfaces with agency clinical and administrative leadership on issues related to medical services.
  • Works in close collaboration with onsite providers and nursing staff in the provision of healthcare services to the pre-trial and incarcerated population.
