About The Position

South Arlington Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Director to join their established small animal practice in Arlington, Texas. This role is for an experienced veterinarian (DVM) ready for career advancement or a current Medical Director seeking a practice to make a meaningful impact. The clinic emphasizes a thoughtful, relationship-based approach to patient care, providing doctors with the time and support for high-quality medicine while ensuring clients feel heard and valued. The Medical Director will lead with influence, support the team, and contribute to the hospital's growth, while maintaining clinical autonomy and work-life balance. The position involves partnering with the hospital team and regional leadership to foster a positive medical culture, support clinical excellence, and identify growth opportunities, all while continuing to practice medicine and build relationships.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine (or equivalent certification for international graduates)
  • Active Texas veterinary license in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
  • Successful completion of the NAVLE
  • 5+ years of clinical veterinary experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative, team-oriented leadership style
  • A passion for mentoring and developing other veterinarians
  • Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based medicine
  • A genuine interest in building lasting relationships with clients and their pets

  • Previous leadership or Medical Director experience is a plus, but strong emerging leaders are encouraged to apply
