About The Position

Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia and the Vickie & Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience are seeking a board-certified Sleep Medicine physician to lead the outpatient sleep lab and sleep clinic at the Einstein location. The position is part of an enterprise-wide sleep service model across Center City and regional campuses. The Medical Director will combine direct patient care with oversight of sleep lab operations, quality, and accreditation, while supporting the broader enterprise sleep strategy. The physician will care for a patient population devoted entirely to sleep medicine, interpret home and overnight sleep studies, provide clinical support to two advanced practice providers, and lead lab accreditation and quality activities. The role reports directly to the Director of the Jefferson Sleep Center. Candidates must have an academic background and active research and teaching interests, and be eligible for faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher. The schedule includes dedicated nonclinical time for administrative, academic, and leadership duties.

Requirements

MD or DO degree.
Board certification or board eligibility in Sleep Medicine; any qualifying base specialty pathway is accepted.
Academic background and eligibility for faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher.
Demonstrated research and teaching interests.
At least 3 years of clinical sleep medicine experience.
Familiarity with AASM accreditation standards and quality reporting requirements.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, including the ability to balance clinical productivity, administrative duties, and academic endeavors.
Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered sleep medicine care.

Responsibilities

Provide outpatient sleep medicine consultation and follow-up care for a 100% sleep medicine patient population.
Interpret home sleep apnea tests (HSAT) and in-lab overnight polysomnograms (PSG) performed at the site.
Provide night call coverage for the sleep lab as required.
Manage titration protocols and treatment plans, including PAP therapy and alternative treatment pathways.
Serve as physician point of contact and clinical resource for two outpatient advanced practice providers (APPs), including chart review, protocol guidance, and case consultation.
Align regional operations, workflows, and clinical standards with the broader Farber Institute sleep program.
Lead AASM accreditation at the Einstein location, maintain compliance with accreditation standards, and prepare for renewal surveys.
Oversee sleep lab and clinic quality metrics, including study turnaround time, follow-up compliance, and patient outcomes reporting.
Partner with clinical operations leadership on scheduling, workflow design, and technologist performance.
Develop and maintain clinical protocols and policies for the sleep lab and clinic.
Maintain active research interests and participate in scholarly activities in sleep medicine.
Teach and provide clinical instruction to trainees, medical students, residents, or sleep fellows within the Farber Institute / Jefferson ecosystem.
