A Typical Day for a Medical Billing Specialist at our Network Support Center involves managing Third Party billing across all WesleyLife branches, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims. The role requires staying updated on Medicare/Skilled billing regulations and implementing necessary process changes for compliance. Understanding Medicare and Commercial Insurance for co-insurance calculations, cash posting, and collections is crucial. The specialist will handle delinquent accounts and resolve credit balances, while maintaining the confidentiality of client and organizational information. Collaboration with various stakeholders including providers, finance staff, auditors, and state agencies is expected. Responsibilities include updating HCPC and RUG rates, PDPM and maintaining billing software tables. Coordination with Office Managers, Therapy Providers, and Directors of Nursing is necessary to ensure accurate billing and streamline operations. Effective communication with clients, responsible parties, and therapy providers regarding charges and financial information is key. The role also involves performing other duties as assigned, participating in projects, and collaborating with team members effectively.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of healthcare billing experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions and schedules under pressure with changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet billing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Professionalism in work ethic, attitude, and etiquette.
  • Collaboration with internal and external resources while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Able to demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, adept at resolving challenges independently and collaboratively.
