About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to join our private ophthalmology practice to support our revenue cycle operations. This role requires strong knowledge of ophthalmology billing, payer guidelines, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working independently within a structured daily workflow. Requirements

• Strong computer skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Must be dependable, self-motivating, and multi-tasking
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
• Ability to focus on detailed tasks in a fast-paced environment
• High School Diploma/GED

Nice To Haves

• Strong knowledge of ophthalmology billing
• Knowledge of payer guidelines

Responsibilities

• Charge entry and coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS)
• Electronic claim submission and clearinghouse usage
• Denial management, appeals, and claim follow-up
• Insurance and patient A/R management
• Accurate payment posting and reconciliation
• Ensure compliance with payer guidelines
• Proactively identify issues and work with Billing Manager to find solutions
