About The Position

Comprehensive EyeCare Partners is a vision care management service organization that provides practice management and administrative services to affiliated physicians and practices. The Medical Billing Specialist conducts revenue cycle management duties with patience, positivity, and productivity in a supportive environment that offers growth and learning opportunities. The role also handles medical-information requests and records, routes incoming documents, provides customer service, and maintains physician and practice credentialing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a self-starter who can exercise independent judgment and multitask.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous medical records experience and knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Knowledge of clinical and office software.
• Medical Billing and Coding Certification.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming requests for information and respond in a timely manner.
• Validate requests and authorizations for release of medical information in accordance with established procedures and HIPAA guidelines.
• Complete release-of-information requests, including retrieving and returning medical charts and accurately copying or scanning medical records according to requests and established procedures.
• Scan consult reports, lab results, and other medical records to patient accounts.
• Provide helpful, professional, and respectful customer service.
• Manage incoming faxes and route documents appropriately.
• Manage and maintain accurate and timely physician and practice credentialing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
