About The Position

BASS Medical Group is seeking detailed, energetic, focused medical billers for its Billing Team. Openings include Charge Entry and AR Follow-up Specialists across specialties including Neurosurgery, Podiatry, Hand Surgery, Urology, Urgent Care, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedic Surgery, Endocrinology, Pathology, Nephrology, and Pain Medicine. The role performs day-to-day billing and follow-up activities within revenue operations, works aging claims, resolves denials and correspondence, assists patients, and prepares appeal letters. Positions are located in Brentwood and Walnut Creek, California. Salary is based on experience, with a stated pay range of $23.00–$32.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of medical billing experience, or a medical billing certificate is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic typing skills.
• Superior phone communication skills with providers, carriers, patients, and employees.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
• Positive attitude.
• Great attendance and punctuality.
• Knowledge of modifiers, insurance plans, and follow-up techniques.

Nice To Haves

• Medical billing certificate.
• Previous medical billing experience or experience with EPIC, ECW, or Athena software.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day billing and follow-up activities within revenue operations.
• Work aging claims from Work Queues or aging reports.
• Present trends or issues to the supervisor and collaborate on improvements.
• Resolve denials or correspondence from patients and insurance carriers.
• Assist with patient calls and questions.
• Follow team and company policies.
• Meet productivity standards.
• Write clear and concise appeal letters.
