Part-time Medical Assisting Instructor
About The Position
Fortis College in North Houston, Texas, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Medical Assistant to teach in its Medical Assisting Program. The part-time professional position reports directly to the Dean of Education. The typical teaching load is two courses each term, with one or two preparations. The instructor will also provide academic advising to students and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation. Fortis provides educational programs designed to deliver real-life career skills in high-demand occupations, supporting employment upon graduation and ongoing professional growth.
Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma.
- CCMA, RMA, and/or CMA certification.
- CPR or BLS certification.
- At least three years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a patient-facing clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven.
Nice To Haves
- An associate degree.
- Prior higher education or postsecondary teaching experience.
