Medical Assistant - Radiation Oncology - MA
About The Position
The Medical Assistant performs assigned direct and indirect patient-care tasks in an ambulatory setting under the direct supervision of a physician or assigned supervisor. As a member of the healthcare team, the Medical Assistant accepts appropriate delegation from a registered nurse or physician to help meet the needs of patients and families. Work is performed according to the patient care plan, organizational policies and procedures, and principles of relationship-based care. The Medical Assistant carries out designated activities limited by law to unlicensed healthcare personnel.
Requirements
- For Florida, a high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program, or hold an active CMA, RMA, or CCMA credential.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Computer proficiency, including prior experience with electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to work daytime hours; flexibility may be required to meet staffing needs.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
Nice To Haves
- Active CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification or registration is preferred for candidates who have completed a Medical Assistant program.
