About The Position

Upperline Health is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and driven Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering complex health services in a clinic setting. The role primarily serves the Noblesville, Indiana clinic and involves clinical and administrative support. The Medical Assistant should be a flexible problem solver and collaborative team member who is eager to learn. Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience and x-ray experience are desirable.

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience.
• X-ray experience.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience.
• Previous experience assisting or providing care to the geriatric patient population.
• Previous experience working in an EMR, preferably athenahealth.
• Exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and ensure they are ready and comfortable for physician appointments.
• Complete exam intake, including reviewing medical, social, and surgical histories and the history of present illness.
• Take vital signs and complete required documentation in the clinic EMR, athenahealth.
• Provide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician, including taking x-rays and assisting in the exam room as needed.
• Restock exam rooms and dispose of exam room trash as part of daily administrative tasks.
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient visit and at the end of each day.
• Sterilize equipment.
• Conduct health assessments and complete visits with Upperline Plus patients.
• Conduct telephonic outreach and engagement with Upperline Plus patients to coordinate ongoing preventative care.
• Coordinate care, including requesting medical records, managing orders, scheduling appointments, and managing patient care referrals.
• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if needed.
• Perform other related duties as deemed necessary by Upperline Health.
