About The Position
The Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant functions as a member of the patient care team and contributes to the health management of patients. The role performs a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for clinic patients, often assisting section physicians and working under the direction and supervision of the Patient Care Manager. The Medical Assistant maintains primary responsibility for technical procedures and the operation and care of the nursing unit in the department. Attendance is an essential function of the job. Requirements
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Ability to move, traverse, position oneself, remain stationary, and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day.
- Ability to lift, move, and transport patients, equipment, and supplies.
- Motor coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to articulate speech.
- Ability to read and understand orders.
- Visual acuity and ability to distinguish colors.
Nice To Haves
- Formal training, likely indicated by certification from an accredited medical assistant program.
- Previous experience is preferred.
