About The Position

Western Montana Clinic is seeking two full-time Medical Assistants: one for the Family Medicine department at the Broadway building downtown and one for the OB/Gyn department at the Fort Missoula location. The clinic is a group of local, independent providers practicing in multiple specialties, continuing a 100-year tradition of providing high-quality health care to the community. Medical Assistants welcome and prepare patients for visits, complete intake assessments, assist with procedures, monitor and administer medications and immunizations, perform phlebotomy and point-of-care laboratory testing, and manage patient portal and telephone communications. They also support patient education and coordinate ongoing care, including referrals and prescriptions. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekends or evenings.

Requirements

Completion of a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant program.
Must become certified within six months of hire.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer knowledge and proficiency.
Successful candidates will be subject to a background check.

Medical assistant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and prepare them for their health care visits.
Complete intake assessments, including medical history and vital signs.
Assist during procedures.
Monitor, document, and administer medications and immunizations.
Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care laboratory testing.
Manage and prioritize patient portal (MyChart) and telephone communications.
Participate in and support patient education.
Coordinate ongoing care, including referrals and prescriptions.
