About The Position
Under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), the Medical Assistant performs tasks specific to medical assisting and assesses and educates patients. The position is in Valley Health’s Spring Mills Urgent Care department and works the first shift. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience in a clinical setting.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), Healthcare Provider level. New hires must have the appropriate AHA certification before completing orientation.
- Good communication skills.
- Competence in providing care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
- Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development.
- Competence in interacting successfully with patients according to their special needs, which may depend on the age of the patient served.
Nice To Haves
- Training in specialty-specific assisting is desired.
