About The Position

Valley Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for Spring Mills Urgent Care. Under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), the Medical Assistant performs tasks specific to the role, assesses patients, and provides patient education. The role is classified as non-exempt and works the first shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in a clinical setting.
• BLS certification: American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (HCP) or other AHA-approved certification. New hires must have the appropriate AHA certification before completing orientation.
• Good communication skills.
• Competence in providing care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
• Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development.
• Ability to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs, which may be based on the age of the patient served.

Nice To Haves

• Training in specialty-specific assisting is desired.

Responsibilities
