About The Position

Schweiger is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its SF - Castro and SF - Presidio Terrace offices. The role performs medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting and supports physicians and providers in delivering high-quality patient care. Healthcare and dermatology experience are required. The schedule is 30 or more hours per week, with Monday through Friday availability and flexibility to help cover within a team environment.

Requirements

• Dermatology experience.
• Healthcare experience.
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.
• Availability during weekdays and weekends.

• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that supports quality patient service and care.
• Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures.
• Assist providers with recording treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
• Understand patient and provider flow and anticipate providers’ next steps.
• Prepare rooms before and after patients and check equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure it is working properly.
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed.
• Scan retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies daily, and notify the Head MA and/or GM when supplies are low.
• Perform inventory tasks and stock supplies and equipment as requested.
• Attend in-house training and continuing education opportunities.
