About The Position

OSUP Community Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for its primary care practice in Hilliard, Ohio. The Medical Assistant supports direct patient care and performs routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols. The role assists medical and nursing staff with patient examinations and treatment, prepares patients and treatment rooms, collects specimens, performs routine laboratory tests, and helps manage patient information and communications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one of the following: a diploma from a Medical Assistant Program; a minimum of one year of medical assisting experience; military medic training; EMT-P (Paramedic) training; or the equivalent of one year of combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Medical Assistant certification; certified Medical Assistants receive additional compensation for obtaining and maintaining certification.

Responsibilities

Assist medical and/or nursing staff in examining and treating patients.
Room patients and measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
Complete patient interviews and histories.
Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments and explain procedures.
Assist with procedures as ordered by a physician.
Assist with examinations, carry out treatments, and perform special tests as needed.
Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
Collect blood, urine, and sputum samples and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
Manage and organize the medical office inbox to ensure timely and accurate communication with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
Oversee the reception of incoming patient information and gather necessary data for healthcare providers.
