About The Position

Union Hospital offers specialized care for women, including comprehensive prenatal care, preventive health screenings and general gynecology. This team also collaborates with other gynecologic specialists that offer expertise in areas such as infertility, high-risk obstetrics and gynecologic cancer. A caregiver in this position works 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (As designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee)
- Completion of a clinical externship (Extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within new hire period)
- Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
- Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assisting Certification
- Successful completion of Cleveland Clinic Externship
Responsibilities
- Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
- Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
- Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
