About The Position

Performs basic nursing skills and/or serves under the direction and supervision of the practice physician and/or registered nursing staff. The Medical Assistant supports patient visits and clinical procedures, maintains exam rooms and medical equipment, assists with scheduling and follow-up education, and performs office administrative duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of experience in a clinical setting.
Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
Ability to use and care for equipment including printers, embossers, and computers.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
Ability to adapt to changing environments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Nice To Haves

Completion of healthcare education coursework.
One year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Greet and escort patients to exam rooms; prepare for physician visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
Prepare exam rooms for patients, ensuring cleanliness and supplies are available.
Assist with and/or perform examinations, tests, and procedures.
Schedule appointments and arrange referral contacts as needed.
Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
Maintain quality-control testing logs as required.
Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
Assist with office administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking messages, copying, printing, data entry, depositing cash, and other closing duties.
