About The Position

The Medical Assistant at CarolinaEast Heart Center assists physicians with patient care and performs clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. The role includes appointment scheduling, chart management, and providing patients with information so they can make full use of clinic services. The Medical Assistant is expected to convey a positive image of the clinic and may be assigned to a medical specialty to support related patient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, or one year of work experience as a Clinical Medical Assistant within the last three years.
• Currently certified as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or obtain certification within the first year of employment.
• Maintain BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care.
• Perform clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
• Schedule appointments and manage charts.
• Provide information to patients to help them use and benefit from clinic services.
• Convey a positive image of the clinic.
• Support patient care related to an assigned medical specialty, if applicable.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in accordance with CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
