About The Position

Avance Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers and help deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care across its primary care network in North Carolina. The role primarily supports one provider in a busy, fast-paced clinical environment and calls for a flexible, adaptable team player who can maintain a patient-centered focus under pressure. This is a full-time position with 12-hour weekday shifts and a rotating weekend schedule. A comprehensive benefits package is available on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Offers are contingent upon successfully completing a background check and drug screen.

Requirements

• At least one year of Medical Assistant experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
• Growth mindset.
• Flexibility and resilience.

Nice To Haves

• A CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam and treatment rooms.
• Triage patients as necessary.
• Administer vaccines and injections.
• Record patient data before the physician’s visit.
• Assist physicians with examinations and a wide variety of procedures.
• Administer medications.
• Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain proper disinfection protocols.
• Complete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging.
• Phone in prescriptions and distribute medications as ordered by the provider.
