About The Position
The University Health Center provides a comprehensive array of health care services and health education programs to JMU students. Included in our health care services are several medical clinics, a pharmacy, a medical laboratory, and other programs that provide services for more than 30,000 patient encounters a year. UHC practices evidence-based medicine in a confidential, inclusive environment.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician
- Ability to work well with college students in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills
Nice To Haves
- Phlebotomy experience
- Previous work experience in a medical setting
- Experience in an acute care medical setting
Responsibilities
- Serve as medical assistant for 2 acute care clinics.
- Perform check-in for medical appointments and prepare student for medical exams.
- Perform tests such as EKG and phlebotomy per qualifications
- Performs point of care testing as needed.
- Assists with management of medical inventory
- Assists with training of new student volunteers
