The University of Arkansas is seeking a 9-month Associate Professor for a joint position in the Department of Physics and the Institute for Integrative and Innovator Research (I³R). This role requires a candidate with a demonstrated, nationally recognized research program that includes translational and/or entrepreneurship components, with the potential for sustained growth. The ideal candidate will have a lead role in projects related to health sciences or medical device development, utilizing expertise in areas such as materials, neuroscience, nanotechnologies, and bioelectronics. Responsibilities include developing and delivering undergraduate and graduate curriculum, contributing to the profession nationally, establishing collaborations with academic, industrial, government, or non-profit sectors, and demonstrating capabilities in establishing policies and processes that support growth. The candidate will also be expected to develop or implement STEM education or workforce training programs, establish and lead teams to meet research and entrepreneurial objectives, secure funding, disseminate knowledge through publications and talks, and participate in national and international events. Additionally, the role involves developing and leading outreach and engagement efforts and requires a strong commitment to an inclusive, team-based, mission-driven, agile, and flexible environment. Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to create and maintain collegial working relationships are essential.
