About The Position

The Medical Assistant prepares patients and assists clinical providers with examinations by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical and social history, and chief complaints. Under physician supervision, the Medical Assistant performs clinical tasks within the scope of their certification. The role supports daily patient care and efficient patient flow, maintains medical records and real-time data entry, and may perform front desk duties such as patient registration and billing. It also includes regulatory testing, equipment quality checks, and maintaining supplies and linens.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
BLS certification.
RMA, CMA, AMT, or equivalent certification recognized by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners upon hire.

Nice To Haves

One to three years of similar job experience in the medical field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform clinical and technical tasks, including urine collection and drug screening, breath alcohol testing, respiratory fit testing, audiometry, spirometry, phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, vision testing, vital signs, lab draws, crutch-walking assistance, splinting, and basic first aid.
Assist with daily patient care and clinician needs, prepare patients for tests and examinations, support efficient patient flow, and discharge patients when appropriate.
Maintain medical records and enter data in real time.
Fax paperwork to companies and clients in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
Perform front desk duties as directed, which may include patient registration and billing.
Perform and document required daily regulatory testing to ensure clinical equipment is accurate and compliant.
Oversee inventory and stocking of supplies and equipment, conduct quality assurance checks, and maintain linens.
