Medical Assistant (Full Time)
About The Position
Schweiger is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its Sunnyvale office. The Medical Assistant performs medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting and helps provide a professional, welcoming atmosphere for patients and providers. The role assists with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures; records treatments and related clinical information; supports patient flow; prepares and checks rooms and equipment; gives pre-care and post-care instructions; monitors supplies; and participates in training and continued education. Previous healthcare and dermatology experience are required. The schedule is 30 or more hours per week, with weekday availability and flexibility to help cover in a team environment.
Requirements
- Dermatology experience is required.
- Healthcare experience is required.
- Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
- Computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.
- Weekday availability and flexibility to help cover in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
Responsibilities
- Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care for patients and providers.
- Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures.
- Assist providers in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures within established guidelines.
- Understand patient flow and anticipate the provider’s next steps to the best of their ability.
- Prepare rooms before and after patients and check equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure it is in proper working order.
- Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed.
- Scan retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies daily, and alert the Head MA and/or General Manager about low supplies.
- Perform inventory responsibilities and stock supplies and equipment as requested.
- Attend in-house training and continuing education opportunities.
