About The Position

Curana Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers and help ensure excellent patient care. The role supports older adults in senior living communities and skilled nursing facilities, working with facility stakeholders and the care team to address needs and coordinate services. The Medical Assistant serves as a liaison between the community and the care team, supports patient and family engagement, assists with appointments and front desk duties, and performs clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, rooming patients, diagnostic testing, and quality assurance monitoring.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Outgoing and comfortable interacting with people.
Organized and an effective communicator.
Experience working as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting, preferably in a geriatric or senior care environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Passionate about helping others.
Highly organized.
Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Act as a community liaison among nursing, sales, wellness, and leadership stakeholders.
Attend to facility needs and communicate them to the team.
Coordinate care with specialists, therapy, home health, and other ancillary services.
Assist with front desk duties, including appointment management and scheduling.
Conduct monthly outreach with residents and families to assess needs and coordinate care consistent with the provider’s care plan.
Connect patients with local and regional social support services.
Greet patients, family members, and staff.
Take vital signs, room patients in a clinic, and help prepare them for visits.
Coordinate after-visit care.
Complete diagnostic testing.
Manage and complete quality assurance monitoring.
