About The Position

Emplify Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support patients at the Postville and West Union Clinics. The Medical Assistant combines clinical skills with a compassionate approach to help ensure patients receive a high level of care. The schedule is 0.8 FTE (64 hours bi-weekly), Monday through Friday on day shifts, with no weekends or holidays. The work locations are Postville on Mondays and Fridays and West Union on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Requirements

Graduate of a Medical Assistant, Practical Nursing, or Vocational Nurse program, or have completed education that makes the candidate eligible for NCLEX-PN; alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalency and Medical Assistant certification.
BLS certification for healthcare workers.
Obtain Medical Assistant certification within 15 months of the hire date.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and help set a welcoming tone for their appointments.
Update patient information in charting systems.
Take patient vital signs.
Assist with project work that supports the department.
Partner with providers, medical professionals, and managers in supporting patients’ health journeys.
