About The Position

Under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), the Medical Assistant performs Medical Assistant-specific tasks, assesses patients, and provides patient education.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in a clinical setting or completion of a Medical Assistant certification program.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA); new hires must have the appropriate AHA certification before completing orientation.
• Good communication skills.
• Competence in providing care to patients using the nursing process.
• Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development.
• Competence in interacting successfully with patients according to their special needs, which may depend on the age of the patient served.
