About The Position

Under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), the Medical Assistant performs Medical Assistant-specific tasks, assesses patients, and provides patient education. The position is with Greenwood Primary Care at Valley Health.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in a clinical setting or completion of a Medical Assistant certification program.
• Current BLS certification: American Heart Association-approved Healthcare Provider (HCP). New hires must have appropriate AHA certification before completing orientation.
• Good communication skills.
• Competence in providing patient care using the nursing process.
• Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development.
• Ability to interact successfully with patients according to their needs, including needs related to the age of the patient served.

Nice To Haves

• Training in specialty-specific assisting is desired.
