About The Position

The Medical Assistant will assist licensed healthcare providers in delivering patient care within a secure federal medical facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The role includes medication administration, inventory management, patient education, vital signs monitoring, documentation, and general clinical and clerical support. This is a full-time contract position scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with two consecutive days off. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program.
• Active and valid Medical Assistant certification.
• At least 1 year of experience in a clinical or medical setting.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Record patient history and vital signs; assist with scheduling and data entry.
• Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens as required.
• Prepare and administer medications in accordance with federal policy and safe medication practices, including oral, sublingual, buccal, ophthalmic, otic, nasal, topical, and inhaled medications.
• Document medication administration accurately in electronic and paper medical records (MARs).
• Promptly report and document adverse reactions, medication refusals, and incidents.
• Support pharmacy operations, including inventory, storage, and supply management.
• Maintain strict accountability for needles, syringes, and controlled substances.
• Comply with facility, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support healthcare operations.
