About The Position

Lee Health is seeking Medical Assistants to support Primary Care, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine practices across Southwest Florida. Medical Assistants help providers deliver compassionate, personalized, patient-centered care, including routine wellness visits, preventive screenings, chronic-condition management, and care for patients at every stage of life. Opportunities are available in Cape Coral, North Fort Myers, Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Estero, Naples, and Sanibel.

The role includes welcoming patients, preparing them for examinations, assisting with minor procedures, performing phlebotomy and point-of-care testing, and processing laboratory specimens. Medical Assistants obtain, document, and communicate patient information; administer medications under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant and in accordance with applicable regulations and organizational policies; provide patient instructions and follow-up support; maintain medical records and patient care areas; coordinate prescription and information requests; and safely operate medical equipment while following established procedures and patient-safety standards.

This is a full-time, day-shift opportunity. Some practices may require schedule flexibility, including early or late hours and occasional weekends. The listed pay range is $21.54–$25.31 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and excellent customer service.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required within the first 90 days of hire.
• Medical Assistant experience is preferred but is not required for graduates of an accredited medical assisting program within the past two years.
• One year of recent clinical experience within the last four years in a physician’s office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted in place of an accredited medical assisting credential.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification.
• Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities
